For years I had plans to go to the top of the Dikios-mountain. In November 2003 I finally had the opportunity.

Here some pictures of the trip. We went by car to Zia and from there by foot to the top. 2 Hours there and one and a half hour back.
If you want to make this trip I advise you to wear good shoes; the biggest part of the road is covered with rocks. Please don't make the trip after rain.

After about halfway climbing you will see a kind of alpine pasture. Please mark the place you came up. On our way back we couldn't find the road down anymore and we had to take an "alternative" road down till we reached the normal road again. I can not advise you to do this.
