By coincidence we have met people from the organization GASAH in 2008. GASAH is helping stray-animals on Kos in different kinds of way.
I had asked Mars Netherlands (producer of f.e. Pedigree and Whiskas) if I could buy some petfood from them and had this delivered on Kos. I wanted to help some people over there who are feeding stray-animals and pay this from their own money. Mars Netherlands sent my request to Mars Greece. They were willing to donate some dog-food but needed a delivery-address on Kos. Using the contacts I have on Kos I get in contact with people of GASAH and I told them about the offer of Mars.
After some weeks Mars Greece delivered 5 big sacks of dog-food and chew-bones.
Of course GASAH is very grateful for this and they do hope that Mars Greece want to donate again in the future.

GASAH is completely depending on donations and private-money of the founders. There are doing a fantastic job which you can see on their website (www.gasah.ch in German and English). You also find information about how you can become a member.

In 2008 GASAH has bought with private money a piece of land on Kos. Below you find some pictures of making the fence around the area.
We expect to have more pictures after our visit in September 2009.
