Some pictures
of Kefalos. The old capital of Kos in the south of the island. The small
village is situated on the top of a hill and can be reached by a steep
road. In Kefalos they have used the original Greek blue colour a lot.
The streets
in the village are narrow, without a pavement in front of the houses.
Almost all the buildings used to be private houses. When the tourists
came it is obvious something happened what a Greek man once told me:
People use to have their living-room at the street-level. When tourists
came to the Greek islands it happened time after time that people, sitting
in their chair in front of the window, saw tourists passing by. They
thought: 'He, tourists. They bring money.' Next day they pulled down
their living-room and started a shop or mini-market. In Kefalos it is
very obvious that this happened.
