Because of the marriage of Yiannis and Yianna, 2 friends of us from Kos, we have been to Langadas from 11-04-2004 till 15-04-2004. Langadas, Yianna's birth-place, has about 12,000 inhabitants and is situated 17 km north-west of Thessaloniki.

From the plane you have a nice view on Thessaloniki. The airport itself is situated 16 km outsite the town. From there it is about 45 minutes by car to Langadas.

In Langadas there are not many tourists from outside Greece. We hardly saw hotels or apartments. They laid out some nice small squares with flowers. Every Tuesday there is a market. People from all the surrounding place come to Langadas. That day the main-street of Langadas will suite a metropolis.

It was striking us that many houses had slanting roofs; something we are not used to in Kos.

For us and some other wedding-guests there was a reservation in the Mega Alexandros hotel within The Spa of Langadas with therapeutic baths. Actually this is the only thing Langadas could offer tourists. The approach and garden of The Spa are recently laid out.
